Yeah, I decided to give Tegaki E a try... I was pulled in by the allure of actual skin-tone-like colors. Since Tegaki E doesn't yet have all the helpful save and edit features that the Japanese Tegaki has, I had to make sure I drew something that I would finish. No WIPs like on Tegaki Japan.
So I drew this picture for my dear
who has given me so much love and support during my toughest times. She has done so much for me and my family. Her comforting arms have given me so much strength, especially these last two weeks after my father's death. I wouldn't have come through it like I have if she weren't here. Even things like her helping clean my mom's house and cooking for my family have been a huge, greatly appreciated help. I don't know what I'd do without her.

Before anything else, what stands out to me on this pictures is that even though the rain's pouring down and the colour scheme is dark and they've just been through the worst possible situation that they can they're both smiling. Just that one little detail turns the picture from a sad scene to a happy scene. Well... 'happy' probably isn't the right choice of word, but it does show the glimmer of hope in there.
I can see why you'd want to give these colours a try though. I do love the unusual colours offered on the Japanese Tegaki as it pulls artists out of their comfort zone, but it is nice to see shading that's more familiar too. Especially the lovely goldeny highlights on Edo's suit, they're very nice.
